Kristen Redsky

Kristen Redsky (she/her) is a member of the Elk Clan and a Two-Spirit Ojibwe woman born in Treaty Three Territory from Shoal Lake #40 First Nation. Her Anishinabe name is Waabishki Bineshi - "White Dove," which means messenger between two worlds. She enjoys spending time with family, volunteering, hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, playing hockey, reading, playing the acoustic guitar, and flying.

Kristen is an alumni of Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She graduated from the Pre-technology Skilled Trades Program and the Welding Techniques Program, with Honours. After graduation, she gained employment as an Electrical Fitter and helped build the Toronto Street Car System. Out of all her passions, her dream is to have a career in the Aviation Field and be a role model for the youth in her family and community. Kristen feels that this is her way of contributing back to community.

Throughout her life, Kristen has contributed by volunteering in every community she has resided. She takes the time and initiative to identify needs and gaps that exist which have been invisibilized. By example and through direct-action, Kristen has helped contribute to community safety so that people have a safer community to thrive. Unity through community care is the kind of world she envisions. Kristen strives to be a caring and loving leader in her family and community.

Kristen is also a motivational speaker and has been invited to speak in many communities across Treaty Three Territory to share her journey of personal growth with the youth. She is dedicated to inspiring and empowering youth to achieve their dreams. After graduating from the Aviation program, she would like to begin working in the Aviation Industry and be an example for young people that it is possible to follow your dreams.
